January 12, 2024

Dear St. Aidan’s,

Happy new year! I hope you all found some time for rest and renewal after Christmas. I am grateful for the time Amelie and I were able to spend with family and friends on our visit back to the U.S. And now it’s good to be back with you here in The Beach as we begin 2024.

This Sunday marks the beginning of our stewardship season, when together as a congregation we consider how we can share our time, talents, and treasure for the good of our St. Aidan’s parish and to support our outreach to the wider community. Over the coming weeks, between now and the beginning of Lent in mid-February, the Growth Committee will be inviting several parishioners to share brief stories of how sharing what they have with the church has been meaningful and life-giving.

As we reflect on their stories, as well as stories from scripture of people who have said yes to God’s call—as we will hear this Sunday in the story of Samuel—I hope you will be reflecting prayerfully on how you and your family may deepen your involvement in the life of St. Aidan’s in this new year. May we each say, as Samuel did, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Grace and peace to you,

Becky+
