The Wednesday 10:30am Eucharist resumes on September 7. 3. No Sunday School on September 4th Our regular programming for children and youth resumes Sunday, September 11 at the 10:30am service. 4. Staff Vacation – Church Office closed Our office administrator Margaret Allen is on vacation, returning Tuesday, September 6. 5. Welcome Back Sunday & St. Aidan's Day On Sunday, September 11, we will be celebrating Aidan, our patronal saint, as we welcome everyone back from the summer. Services will resume at 8:30 and 10:30 am, with children’s ministry also resuming, and there will be a lunch following the 10:30 service. As part of the 10:30 service, we will have a blessing of backpacks and work bags. Join us, and bring your backpacks! 6. Season of Creation We have set aside four consecutive Sundays to observe Season of Creation: Sept. 18 (theme of "ocean"), Sept. 25 (theme of "storm"), Oct. 2 (theme of "fauna"), Oct. 9 (theme of "cosmos"; also Harvest Thanksgiving). A blessing of animals is scheduled for the afternoon of October 2 - more details to come. 7. Hymn Request Form Got an old favourite hymn you can’t get out of your head? What about something new you’ve just heard once but would like to hear again? Visit the music page on our website to submit the title in our new Hymn Request form. 8. Food Bank Needs Donations of non-perishable food items for the Grace Pascoe Care Centre food bank and the St. John’s Norway food pantry are always welcome.
