2. Guest Speaker – Oct 16

On Sunday, October 16, we welcome Dr. Dean Dettloff to St. Aidan’s as our special guest speaker. Dean is an educator, journalist, podcast co-host, and a dynamic speaker. He’s also the Central Ontario Animator for Development & Peace, a solidarity movement established in 1967 by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. Today, Development & Peace educates the Canadian population about the causes of impoverished peoples and mobilizes actions for change.  

3. The Beach Community Dinner

Everyone in the Beaches community is invited to share dinner at St. Aidan's on Thursday, October 27. Suggested donation for dinner is $5 per person or $15 per family. There will be programming for children; youth are invited to help with the children's activities. Costumes optional, prizes will be awarded! RSVP on the Events page at staidansinthebeach.com/events or via this link.  

4. Meditation           

Meditation is held in the church on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:15.This is a wonderful opportunity to join with others in cultivating the disciplines of stillness and silence. No experience necessary. All are welcome!  

5. All Souls Evensong

All are invited to a join together for an evensong service celebrating the Feast of All Souls on the afternoon of Sunday, November 6th at 4:30 pm. We hope to see you there!  

6. Tap Donations

The tap donation device at the entrance to the nave is now active! Visitors can tap in denominations of $5, $10, $20 (and in combinations) to support St. Aidan’s. Note: like loose change/cash placed in the collection plate no tax receipts are provided for donations made this way.  

7. Refugee Needs

The arrival of the expected family has been delayed because the small children have chicken pox and were not allowed to fly as scheduled on October 6. They are from Afghanistan and have been living in Malaysia. If you have any of the following you could donate, we would be grateful: toaster, hand mixer, broom, dustpan, swiffer, & vacuum.   Please contact Sue Stuart 416-691-6869.

8. Holiday Craft Market December 3rd

We are pleased to be able to resume our annual Holiday Market in time for Christmas. Vendors wanted. Please contact daylesnider@gmail.com to arrange for a table.  

9. Food Bank Needs Donations of non-perishable food items for the Grace Pascoe Care Centre food bank and the St. John’s Norway food pantry are always welcome. Please place them in the basket in the narthex. Note: empty egg cartons are needed once again.  Thank you!
