June Fundraising ResultsThank you to everyone who made a donation to St. Aidan’s last month using Canada Helps to help us try to win the $20,000 prize. We didn’t win, but we did raise $5940 over and above our monthly Canada Helps donations.  People also made donations to our highlighted funds using other donation streams, and we can report that we will be sending $2005 to Moorelands Kids to support their summer camps program, and that so far this spring the Beach Cares has raised about $10,000 to help Wesem and Olesia when they arrive in Canada, roughly half of the total amount we will need to support them for the first year. The winner of the $20,000 prize was another Anglican Church - Christ Church, Dartmouth NS, who are also supporting a family that has recently arrived from the Ukraine as refugees.8. Summer Study SeriesThis summer we will be studying Debra Rienstra’s book Refugia Faith on Thursdays at 7:00pm: August 11, 18, 25 and September 1. As in previous years, we’ll be gathering in different backyards for discussion (locations to be announced). In her book and on her podcast, Rienstra develops the concept of refugia—the capacity of nature to develop places of protection and resilience in the face of catastrophe and crisis. She applies this to the life of the church in the 21st century. Please join us as we consider how St. Aidan’s can become a community of refugia faith. For more information, contact Michael Van Dusen or John Brewin. 9. Altar Flowers for AugustThere are multiple spots open for a flower dedication in August.
